I wouldn’t consider myself to be nationalist. I cheer on England at football, watch an occasional game of rugby and even less often with the cricket. I try where I can to buy British especially locally grown foods or reared meats, and when it comes to footwear I remain loyal to Made In England brands where possible.
I recently decided to look for a pair of boots, I wanted something casual to wear with jeans or cargo pants but with a rubber sole, due mainly to our inclement British weather but also with comfort in mind. There are many British brands but you have to dig a little deeper to find out if they still continue to manufacture all their footwear in the British isles, many do not.
I came across NPS/Solovair, a Northampton company that are still manufacturing all their footwear in the UK.
The Solovair 8 Eye Derby Boot in Black is a classic derby style boot (unisex) that reminds me of my school days. Nowadays these are popular with all ages and with more variations on finish and colour can be worn with almost anything, a smart addition to any wardrobe.

Do you think they look familiar ? ……….. I certainly thought so!
They are the original manufacturer of the “SOLE OF AIR” footwear, they actually manufactured footwear for 35 years under licence for Dr Martens.
Great looking footwear traditional in design with great build quality, and a Goodyear welted Solovair sole.
130 years experience! …... A traditional British company that started manufacturing hand made footwear in 1881. The Duffers (as they were locally referred to) originally manufactured footwear for the army and progressed into supplying high quality boots all over Europe. They continue today using the same methods and high quality workmanship supplying around the world.
MADE IN ENGLAND
Yes, when it says Made In England it means “Made in England” - it does exactly what it says on the tin! Box!
