With St Patrick’s Day around the corner, it’s the time to dress green while using the day as a flimsy excuse to have an extra night out. So, if you’re planning to dress in the colour of the Emerald Isle, here are a few of our styles which will help out:
Dr Martens Core Print 1461 3 Eye Shoe - Paint Slick Backhand
Firstly we have this 2016 offering from Dr Martens. It’s a variation of their original shoe which was made in its first iteration in April 1961. With a design of splashing, melting, greenish florals which drip down from the top line to the sole, this is a sturdy and quirky choice for St Patrick’s Day revelry.
(Not that we’re suggesting you will, but if you were to spill a drink on this style, it’ll handle it the best of all the St Patrick Day styles on this list. And if you’re in a crowded bar and someone steps on your foot, the legendary sturdiness of Docs will protect your toes!)
Ecco Touch 45 WS 261143
Next we have this stylish nubuck wedge sandal from Ecco, for a classier look. With a cushioned footbed this will be a comfortable choice for an evening celebrating the greatness of the Emerald Isle. (We know the colour is Lime rather than true green but we’re sure no one out celebrating St Patrick’s Day will complain.)
Birkenstock Sydney - Pearly Apple 488153
If you’re lucky enough to live somewhere which is sunny and warm in late March, or are a UK or Ireland resident abroad, you might get away with these summery sandals. They’re Pearly Apple in colour and so not the traditional Irish green, but with a suede-covered cork / latex footbed, this is a comfortable choice for a night spent on your feet.
Romika Maddy 12
Another one more appropriate for the warmer climes, the Maddy from Romika is a pleasant summery slip on shoe with a Velcro fastening for great adjustability. The Olive colour is reasonably close to Ireland’s traditional green and the shoe’s lightweight and hardwearing.
Ecco Chase II 236813
If a boot’s your thing, this low desert boot in Grape Leaf is made from soft and breathable leather. This is a practical style if your St Patrick’s Day night out is likely to involve longish walks between venues or standing in crowded bars.
